Celebrate Earth Day with Natural Wines

Dave Geyer and Koen Janssens are the Yetti and the Kokonut. These two high-octane, talented young winemakers have partnered up to produce some truly original and thrilling wines from sustainable vineyards across South Australia.

A friendship turned into a balanced wine making partnership, Yetti who manages the vineyards and Koko who does the sale side off the business. Together they make the wine.  Strongly believing that it all starts in the vineyard, Yetti and the Kokonut always farm, co farm or have a strong input into the vineyards they take fruit from. The name Yetti and the Kokonut comes form our nicknames given during vintage. These wines are colourful, flavourful and a little tongue in cheek. Best served with good friends and plenty of good vibes.

Wine to Go: A sleek, spicy Spanish Red

Raimat was created with the conviction that sustainable agricultural practices were the best guarantee of the environment. More than 100 years later, this conviction remains unchanged. The vines covered in fog (“boira” in Catalan) are an unmistakable landscape of Raimat. Dense and white, it can be seen practically every dawn and dusk on the estate.

The Garnatxa grape is the king of reds from the Catalunya region, just like it is in the Rhone Valley, where it makes wines such as Cotes du Rhones and the prestigious Chateuneuf du Pape. The Raimat Boira is a sleek, spicy versatile red. We recommend a little chill (take it home and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes) to bring out the vibrant flavors and wild berry fruits. A perfect, inexpensive sipper for tex-mex or if one must have red with sushi to go…

UNITED AS ONE

“WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER”

To our service industry community - we aren’t going to lie, we have all seen better times.

At The Warren Bar and Burrow/Penn Cove Eatery, we do not intend to be another source of the over-saturated COVID-19 news. Let’s keep this real, global pandemics are not our area of expertise. We make awesome craft cocktails and fresh, from-scratch food. What we do know is the world has thrown us a massive curve ball and we are all trying to navigate this together.

Since last Monday, Spencer Warren and the staff at The Warren Bar and Burrow/Penn Cove Eatery have been working on ideas on how we can still be there for our friends and family in the service industry. How to bring levity and comfort to one another through this shared experience. So we figured we would do what we do best; create a sense of community while providing food and drinks.

We are a business and at the heart of our business are our guests and staff. As we announced our plan to share even a small amount of what can, we were truly blessed that others in our community have reached out to donate food, spirits, time and money.

We would like to acknowledge all of those generous individuals, restaurants, and company’s who have donated. We thank you all for helping us continue to come together in assisting us to provide to those who have been impacted most immediately by this.

We would personally like to thank:

Ardent Union, Bae Bae’s Kitchen, Barr Hill, Brown-Foreman, Caledonia Spirits. Campari Group. Laird and Company. Palm Bay International, Quantaum Spirits. Simply Greek, Southern Wines and Spirits. Speyburn Whiskey, Vintage Import Wines, Atria’s, Brugge on North, Gordon Food Service, Juniper Grill, Park Bruges, Point Brugge, Dominic Caputo, Jeff Grasha, Lea DeForte, Patrick McDonnell, Patrick Terry, and Scott Hetter.

At a time like this we all need to laugh, share, connect and be together - from a distance of roughly 20 feet. Please remember to take care of yourselves and each other during this time.

Because of your generosity we are able to continue to offer free meals each night from 7 pm to 9 pm at The Warren Bar and Burrow, located downtown in the Cultural District.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has highlighted The Warren Bar Burrow.....

Thank you Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for highlighting us and spreading the word. We are very grateful to be able to give back to our service industry community with the generous donations we are receiving from other restaurants. We are stronger together!
